(Fiffo sends us his first draft! Be nice... but not too nice.)
I ended up with a very aggressive BR deck and won the draft, winning the finals against a perfectly shaped mill deck (with the blue curse in multiples, the 1-mana artifact, the Nephalia UB land, dream twist...). He put me on a very very fast clock, but my deck was even better than his one talking about very fast race-based
scarcely-interactive games :P Innistrad is awesome, by the way.
I feel my drafting was fine except for the tree-of-redemption pick (don't really know what I was thinking)... but would you have drafted differently? Should I have switched to blue seeing that it was so open? Should I have picked the brimstone volley over the demon? Please let me know ^^
P1P1: I think I pick the Noble here, to be honest. The fact that it's literally the only Black card (whereas the two next cards in the line are both White) is definitely worth considering, plus Noble is really good.
ReplyDeleteP1P3: I agree on the pick here but the Griffin isn't bad if you want to stay White.
P1P8: Woah! With those Black signals I am almost expecting that first Victim of the Night to wheel.
P2P2: That's a LOT of good Blue. But yes, Torch is probably the pick here!
P2P6: Hmmm. I might just pick the rare and live the dream here...
P2P8: Which would then warrant the Zombie pick here. I think it's close between Ironsmith and Walking Corpse...
P2P11: Man that Endless Ranks would've been cute here.
P3P2: Eeeek! Too bad nothing will wheel of this pack, it has some fine Green.
P3P3: Sick! But the Devils is the way to go, I think. It's SO good with IntothemawofHell.
P3P4: Okay that's just crazy.
Nice aggressive deck! And congratulations on winning :)
@Lobster: about p1p1: Yep, In a vacuum I think that's the right pick.. but as I said I don't like black in Innistrad and I was trying to avoid it.
ReplyDeleteabout p1p3: I would have considered the griffin only if my white card was insane (angelic overseer, for instances), but that black sorcery is imho insane. :p
thanks for the comment! (And yes, the zombie bear is close to the werewolf in power level - and somewhat more reliable - but the werewolf can really punish your slow - or stumbling - opponents if you are on the play!)
P1P1 - I take the Noble here, but it's very, very close.
ReplyDeleteP1P3 - I'm not sure the moan is that much better than the abbey griffin if you hate black that much?
P1P4 - things are crazy enough here that I probably take the goliath. That guy is really good.
P1P5 - Now you are committing not to being in Blue no matter how many good blue cards come your way (I think). I probably still try to cut my losses and take the stitched drake here, but I can see the reasoning of your choice.
P1P10 - I'm not sure who's dream that is... but sure. I take the ridgewolf and hope not to play him.
P1P11 - I take the nightbirds clutches. Are bumps good in multiples?
P2P4 - Yeah, I take the patrol or the brain weevil. I consdier the horde basically unplayable.
P3P4 - :-0
P3P6 - I might take the harvest pyre here. Stuff is gonna end up in your yard.
