Would love to know how others would have drafted this. One of the weirdest drafts I've done and somehow went 2-1 with this quirky RG deck anchored by an Inferno Titan who was asleep until the last match and then raged all over my opponent. Deckbuilding wise, I think it retrospect I went a little 1-drop crazy and should've got 1 scout and 1 slinger and added the 2nd croc and gorger in. That's pretty much what I did each match from the sideboard.
P1P2 - I recently had a junk pack where I first picked a swiftfoot boots, and it worked out pretty well. I knew it was going in any deck I made and it kept me open. That might be the pick here, too?
ReplyDeleteP1P4 - I definitely take the Alabaster Mage here, I don't think the rare is that good.
P1P5 - This is a tough pick, but I'm fine with the slaughter cry over insight. I think there's also a case for a blood seeker as you may pick up a cry later and there's always a chance you open a grave titan.
P1P6 - Yeah, gorger is the pick here, especially cuz if you want to play green you should be cutting it from OVERRUN man.
P2P1 - Opening two packs with lavamancer and inferno titan seems like cheating!
P2P3 - I probably take the lawkeeper here... but then again I also have an Alabaster mage and siege mastadon in my pile (cuz I picked it over the manalith if I had alabaster mage in my pile).
P2P4 - Yeah, absolutely the Blood Ogre here.
P2P5 - probably taking the guardian here... I think it's more useful than the scout.
P2P6 - Yup. Same.
P2P7 - I'm good with the slinger here.
P2P8 - I faced a goblin chieftan and bangchuckers in one of my drafts... Unsummon got rid of that trick!
P2P11 - My RW deck was so much better than your RG deck :):).
P3P1 - So glad fireball was here so you can feel good about passing a doom blade!

P3P7 - How you doing on playables? I'd cut the frost breath.
P3P8 - with a Rampant Growth, the Basilisk is fine here!
Deckbuilding - Basilisk and Croc over double Gladecover scout for me! Probably another Brindle Boar over Tectonic Rift, but what do I know?
P1p2 - I do like boots, but Stave Off is such a versatile card.
ReplyDeleteGoing through this again, P1P4 was the mistake. I guess I don't value Alabaster Mage that much? Maybe I should change my mind on that. If I had taken that, I would have ended up with more Staves, Lawkeepers, and some Mastodons to protect the Titan or at least stall until he comes out.
I think I was influenced from a previous draft where the Druid totally ramped on me and I was impressed. Lesson learned, screw the ramp.
