I definitely went into this one wanting to force UW aggro, as I thought that archetype would be strong. Turned out pretty well, especially with the Shield's Fateful Hour trick, but ended up losing to a BW deck that was just able to put out as many creatures and had the guy that would tap and create tokens.

I'm really sorry if this sounds a little rough but I had a few "scream at the screen" moments here. In general I think you did fine but I've got a bunch of comments/questions...
ReplyDeleteP1P1: I take the Shaman here but it's closer than I thought at first glance. Still, it's quite a lot better.
P1P2: That's hard... I think sticking to blue is fine, but Wrack would've made just a good a pick if you were red.
P1P3: Okay, you're in blue. Now take the rare game-changer. Burden TABLES now and then.
P1P4: I would've gone with the captain here. Getting a zombie captain fourth when already in blue is definitely a signal in 3xDKA.
P1P5: This pick is obvious if you have the two zombie lords. But since you don't, I'd probably take the Elk here.
P1P6: Highborn Ghoul is pretty good but you seem to steer clear of the zombie tribal. Gather is a fine card.
P1P7: Urhh - you picked Divination over a better card than this earlier. Why not pick it here?
P1P8: Sure, fine pick.
P1P9: Definitely moving into white now. W/U is the strongest, abstractly, but it just looked like U/B was so much more open.
P1P10: You'll get another one of these if you want. Take the Scour.
P1P11: Well yes but the deal with this card is that the 10th is siginificantly worse than the first. And we're drafing triple. It's not inexcusably late.
P2P1: You seem too set on white! This is the second captain you're passing! Your U/B would've been insane!
P2P2: Relentless Skaabs! The bomb that can't die! Do you hate zombies that much? What did they do to you?
P2P3: Seakite is a lot better!
P2P4: Eeerk, so much good green running past you now, too. I don't know, Flayer is probably right but seeing Alpha fourth is just CRUEL. I think I'd take it.
P2P5: I like this pick a lot.
P2P6: Okay what is happening. Did everyone else disconnect? that card is first-pickable.
P2P7-8: I think I take the bad spirit here hoping for a captain or two to make them better.
P2P9: For a guy who picked Divination fourth a moment ago, you don't seem to like the card a lot.
P3P1: That's fine. I'd probably do that even in straight U/B for the tix. A couple of good cards for black here though.
P3P2: This pick is probably fine. Seakite is close, though.
P3P6: I don't understand this pick - you've been avoiding Black like the plague until now. Just go with the much easier playable Skaab.
P3P8: Not another shield?
Wrack just seems conditional to me and I'd rather take the one that gets it done every time, so that's why I took Griptide. And I loved me some Grasp.
