Asturiel's M13 Draft #1

http://www.raredraft.com/watch?d=3coxv

Heres a pic of the deck to actually go with it :P

I thought this deck was sweet, and I felt like I was in all the games I was playing, which either means that I just came short, the deck wasn't as good as I thought, or I screwed up enough to lose those. I'm not certain what it was but I felt like I could have 3-0d with this deck.

Any thoughts?

  1. P1P1 - I think Serra is the correct pick here, but can't really blame you for taking Interpid hero.
P1P5 - It might be different if the last pick weren't a black card. But I take the tormented soul. He is enough better if you hit the exalted deck you want.
P1P6 - I think I just take the griffin protector here.
P1P9 - If I'm not takign the valor (and I think I am) I think I'd rather take the fire elemental. R is better than U and the mill entrancer isn't that great.
P1P10 - Why don't you like the eagle? He's a good second five drop with serra if you don't pick anything else up. I'd rather him than the shaman, regardless of color. Eagles worst case scenario (2/2 flyer for 5) is a lot less bad than Shaman's. And it's on color.
P2P6 - I don't think sands is better than bladetusk or unsummon. You have enough wincons if the game goes long.
P2P10 - I'm on board with the goblin pick here.
P3P9 - Archaemancer with talrand feels sooooo brutal when you're facing it. I take it here.

I like playing watercourser over sands.

  2. p1p6 Maybe I just love bears too much and just not enough respect for the Griffin *shrug*
p1p7 I don't know what it is about expensive small white fliers, I'm just not a fan, but I agree now that Eagle was the correct pick.
p2p6 I like having the alternate wincon in my deck, but maybe Unsummon was the right call to go with Talrand.
p3p9 In retrospect your right since the Flunkies really wasn't what I was looking for and even though I don't really like Archaeomancer he has a higher chance of making the deck.
